M28 Investigates – Unite m28
Kigali, Rwanda – Are you a Rwandan Journalist bellow 30 years old?, A university student in Journalism and Mass communication? Are you interested in Investigative, Data and Open source Journalism? M28 Investigates want to help you be part of the next generation of fearless African Investigative Journalists. “We looking 45 courageous, determined Men and Women who want to specialize in the field of Investigative Journalism to take part in our training and mentorship program, “Investigate 28”.
“Investigate 28” will give you an opportunity to better understand the anatomy of Investigative Journalism through hands-on training from some of the best broadcast, Print and online journalists in the East and West African region. Investigative Journalists with over 30 years of experience in reporting and training will take you through how to source for stories, Scripting, data mining, and camerawork to editing. This will give you the necessary tools to approach topics worth investigating from diverse angles.
The 45 selected journalists and Journalism students will be classified into three groups (Investigate 28 – Class A 2022 – 2023(Completed), Investigate 28 – Class B 2022 – 2023 & Investigate 28 – Class C 2022 – 2023), each group will go through a one-week training, and the best five in each group are expected to work on different stories / documentaries with in 10 weeks. M28 Investigates will finance the documentaries that will be produced, the funding will help in pre and post production of the Documentaries.
The best five trainees Will travel in the region (Kampala – Uganda and Nairobi – Kenya) to visit and learn from other Investigative newsrooms for a period of one week.

NB: Journalist should have a valid press card issued by Rwanda Media Commission to be part of this program and students must be willing to work professionally according to the Rwanda Media and related Laws.
